Osaka At Home

Hey there, culinary adventurers!

I'm Yuki, and I'm beyond excited to share with you a project that's been simmering in my heart since I was just a kid dreaming about creating my very own book.

But what kind of book?

That was the million-dollar question. It wasn't until I dove deep into the world of teaching Japanese cuisine that everything clicked. The moment I saw photos from students around the world, proudly showcasing their homemade Tempura, something magical happened.

My classes weren't just about cooking; they were about connecting, sharing, and spreading joy through the universal language of delicious food.

Many of my guests have sent me pictures of their homemade Tempura, and let me tell you, they're doing an amazing job! Seeing their Tempura creations really makes my day and fills me with so much pride.

It's incredibly special to see the recipes we've talked about come to life in kitchens all over the world. Every picture they share is a little piece of their love for Japanese food, and it's a beautiful reminder of how food brings us together, no matter where we are.

To everyone who's ever sent me a photo of their culinary masterpieces: you guys are awesome! Thanks for making me a part of your cooking journey. Seeing your passion for food and your incredible dishes is the best gift I could ask for.

The Dream Team:

Benjamin, Atsuko, and the Adorable Kokolo

Creating this cookbook wasn't a solo journey. It was a collaboration with some of the most talented and big-hearted people I know. Meet Benjamin and Atsuko, the dynamic duo behind the stunning photos that bring the recipes to life. Their unique blend of classic elegance and modern flair perfectly captures the essence of each dish. And when they came to Japan, we seized the opportunity to make this cookbook something truly special.

Oh, and did I mention Kokolo?

This little bundle of joy kept our spirits high during those long hours of shooting.

It was a perfect blend of hard work, laughter, and, of course, lots of tasting!

Not Just Any Cookbook

This isn't just a cookbook; it's a piece of my heart. It's a journey through the flavors of Japan, with a personal touch that makes each recipe special. Born and raised in Osaka, I've always been proud of my city's vibrant culture, its blend of humor, warmth, and incredible food. This book is my love letter to Osaka and to all the food lovers out there who want to explore Japanese cuisine in a fun, accessible way.

I've poured my soul into making this cookbook not just practical, but also a work of art. Think of it as your personal guide to Japanese cooking, complete with tips, tricks, and illustrations to help you master each dish. And because I believe cooking is about more than just following a recipe, I've sprinkled in stories and insights to inspire you and maybe even make you laugh.

Choosing the Recipes: A Labor of Love

Selecting the recipes for this book was all about bringing you the best of Japanese cooking. From the must-have soul foods like Okonomiyaki and Yakisoba to the dishes that have won the hearts of my students, each recipe is chosen to make your culinary journey unforgettable. And because I know how important it is to keep things simple and delicious, I've focused on recipes that use repeat ingredients, making your shopping list as short as possible.

So, are you ready to dive into the world of Japanese cooking? To explore the flavors, the laughter, and the love that makes each dish so special? Grab your apron, and let's get cooking! This cookbook is your ticket to a world where food is more than just sustenance; it's a way to connect, to share joy, and to create memories that last a lifetime.
